Introduction

A practice with a GRF of £500,000 and two Directors.

Issues

The business employed seven full time production staff and a number of part time staff but there were some issues with the accounts production quality from some staff. The result was slow turn round time for jobs which quite often had to have remedial work carried out and was impacting on billing and cash flow.

Solution

The Directors took the decision to outsource a percentage of the work to Affinity Outsourcing. The work would include draft accounts and tax computations, final adjustment and filing to HMRC and Companies House. The Directors only involvement with this part of the client base would be meeting with the client to deal with any queries and discuss and agree final figures.

Outcome

The Director’s personal workload was immediately reduced, but at the same time work was processed more quickly and efficiently. This resulted in billing time being shortened, leading to improved cashflow. Clients were happier and service levels were significantly improved. Additionally the profit margins on the work being outsourced were known from the start and became much higher than previously achieved. Staff were happier as there was less stress in the practice and the Principle enjoyed the benefits of running a more profitable, happy, business.
